The name I know them as, or their birth name? Their name in a foreign language, or in English?
2. How will I record dates?
American: 4/15/1965? European: 15/4/1965? 15 April 1965? Database: 1965-04-15?
If you include the name of the month should it be April or Apr or some other abbreviation?
3. How will I record places?
Using the name at the time of the event or the current name? In what language?
4. How will I store research notes?
5. What information will I consider public?
6. Will I take a genetic or social view of children?
7. Will I take a religious, legal, or other view of marriage, families, and gender?
8. More generally, what information will I focus on?
